Our dance medicine team, consisting of Meghan, Katie and Ana is dedicated to providing dancers with the following services:
- Consultations for pain related to stress fractures, ligament injuries, and other dance-related conditions
- Physical therapy to help you recover from an injury and avoid future incidents
- Injury prevention programs to help keep you dancing, including a free injury prevention screening
- Emergency care for injuries such as ankle sprains through direct access
We will provide care that meets your medical, rehabilitation and performance needs by therapists who understand what you're going through, having been there themselves as former professional dancers.
We accept many types of health insurance. No professional dancer or pre-professional dance student is turned away due to an inability to pay in full.
Dr. Kathleen Sun Worrall, DPT, RYT
Katie Sun Worrall was a professional dancer in New York City before returning to school to become a physical therapist. Katie holds a B.A. in Dance from Barnard College where she worked with choreographers such as Kyle Abraham and Camille A. Brown. She has performed with numerous dance companies in NYC, including The Next Stage Project under Jana Hicks and Marijke Eliasberg, mishiDance, and Sunny Nova Dance. She has choreographed and showcased work under her company, Katie Sun Dance Co, at numerous theaters in the city, including Dixon Place, Peridance, and City Center Studios. As a dancer who suffered from injuries, Katie is passionate about helping dancers recover from and prevent injuries so that they can continue dancing and prolong their dance career.
Dr. Ana Wu, DPT
Ana was born and raised in Peru, where she started training in classical ballet at the age of 7 and performed with the Municipal Ballet of Lima. She attended Butler University’s dance program where she performed in various ballets such as Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella, as well as modern dance classics including Martha Graham’s Diversion of Angels. After earning her B.S. in Dance and Arts Administration, she moved to NYC where she continued her dance education with Igal Perry and Christine Wright. In NYC, she performed with various modern dance ensembles such as flowing dance, Anabella Lenzu Dance/Drama, BALAM Dance Theatre, Dance China NY, and Gabrielle Lansner & Co. She has also taught ballet, modern, and movement workshops to children, seniors, and adults
Dr. Meghan Mizrachi, DPT, OCS
Meghan Mizrachi graduated with a BFA in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College. She danced professionally for three years in New York City and Mexico City. Most recently, she toured with Tania Perez Salas Compania de Danza. She has performed at numerous notable venues such as The Kennedy Center and Joyce Theater. Her love of movement and desire to help others led her to naturally transition to a career in physical therapy.
